» Hard Disk Fault
The larger iPods (>8GB) contain a very small hard disk drive. Because these contain moving parts these can go wrong, especially if the iPod has been dropped or knocked. Even through normal usage these can wear out as normal hard disks do on a computer. We offer a replacement service, so your iPod will have a brand new Hard Drive installed.
Please note that you will loose music stored on the iPod, but as long as you have it on iTunes you should be able to restore it.
These are some of the indications that you may have a faulty hard disk:
- Sad ipod logo on screen.
- Folder and ! on screen (which can't be fixed with restore).
- Apple logo + clicking/whirring or constant rebooting.
- -36 error when attempting to load music from iTunes.
- iPod skips through songs.
